Honoring Trans Day of Remembrance

Every year on November 20, the world pauses for Trans Day of Remembrance, a day born from grief, shaped by courage, and carried forward with love.

Unlike Trans Awareness Week, which centers visibility, joy, and pride, today invites something quieter and heavier. It’s a moment to reflect. To mourn. To honor. To listen.

It’s a day created for the trans and gender-diverse people whose lives were taken by transphobic violence and discrimination, lives that should still be here. Dreams that should still be unfolding. Futures that deserved safety, softness, and belonging.

But Trans Day of Remembrance is not only about looking back. It’s also about looking directly at the world we’re standing in now and imagining the one we’re building next.

Today we honor the trailblazers who made space where there was none.

We honor the ones who resisted, who created community, who fought for rights many still rely on.

And we honor those living now, trans and nonbinary people who continue to exist boldly in a world that doesn’t always make room for them.

Aura Magaziine stands with the trans community today and every day.

We stand for a future where remembrance is not born from tragedy, but from celebration where trans lives are protected, cherished, and supported without question.

May today be a reminder to:

• Hold space for the grief.

• Speak the names of those no longer here.

• Support the trans people in our lives louder, more intentionally, and with deeper compassion.

• And to acknowledge the work still ahead.

In remembrance. In solidarity. In love.

🩷💙🤍
